This sounds like a made up story.
Now, he has advertised the facts that he can’t stop editorializing the weather and he can’t handle any negative reaction to it. What network would want to hire all those potential problems? He shared all this, perhaps thinking it would make those Iowans feel guilty, when all it did was make himself look pathetic.
