There was a relatively small margin of safety in the best scenario. Normal operation was taking the sub into the red zone. And apparently their technical expertise was based on ‘girl power’.

So it imploded at depth in milliseconds and they never knew what made them fish food. Probably wasn’t enough collapsed volume to support dieseling, not that it matters.

And they created a new shipwreck for the visitors to the Titanic to view, smaller but with its own stories. I read about the 19 year old passenger’s aunt in Amsterdam who said her nephew was terrified of the whole trip, but went along because his billionaire father wanted him to join him. Sorry, but I can see excellent photographs of the Titanic online without going to the site itself.
