If they had been alive for any length of time, I cannot imagine the horror they went through. There is no way to know if the craft was vertical or horizontal. They didn’t have a true waste station so fear and tears probably made the air unbreathable. The darkness, the hopelessness, knowing no one could hear them scream or cry - my heart breaks for them- especially the boy. Rest in Peace.

Don’t cry, you are projecting yourself into their imaginary experience. Sure it is tragic but doubtful they experienced much misery. It probably didn’t take long. A catastrophic implosion would be a few seconds maybe 12 at the very most. Not enough time to take in a breath to hold. Imagine a soda can. It resists being crushed until it starts being crushed and then it happens all at once. They may have seen a crack form and some water seeping in but they wouldn’t have had enough time to say oh shit after that.

At that depth the implosion would have happened so quickly their brains would not have had time to even process that.

They died instantly when it imploded. They had no idea it was going to happen and had no time to process it when it did. It was the equivalent of someone walking up behind you unnoticed and shooting you in the head. There is no reason to create in your mind a degree of suffering that did not exist.
