To: Hot Tabasco
My guess is that a breach in the hull caused it to collapse due to the immense water pressure......

I thought I read that this had never gone down to that depth before. If true, who in their right mind would board that thing.

50 years ago, along with my sister and brother-in-law, I took a scuba diving course (multiple lessons in both a classroom and pool) conducted by a fellow worker at my plant who was a dive instructor.

It wasn't your typical quick lesson on diving typically given at some Caribbean resort when you sign up to go scuba diving.

This was literally a fascinating physics class on the partial pressure of gasses and Archimedes Principle. And the necessity of dive masters and their decompression tables when deep diving (which most rec. divers typically don't do).

We did our diving certification at a quarry in Ohio and never dove again..............LOL!
