Bless you
Bless you
The absolute, most insane thing I still see are skeeert people wearing their masks.....outside.....by themselves....in......110º heat.
Lawdy!
:-)
My once peaceful white neighborhood is now infested with afros and I see some wearing masks, below their nose, everyday at my 7-11. I just laugh at them...
Havent seen a white person in a mask for a while now...
Only traitors demanded the wearing of face masks.
Easy to identify democrats now
Exactly right. They’re also the ones who would force you to wear a mask if they could.
MDs sold out to BigPharma.....the likes/extent of which we’d not seen, previously.
They’ve lost credibility.
“Here’s your sign!”
As far as I know, no one is asking me to put one on.
Yet....in your very next post you say your wife’s oncologist asks/insists that you wear one.
🙃
We split time between the insane liberal San Francisco Bay Area (on the Peninsula) and very conservative North Idaho.
Mask wearing is exactly what you would expect. Virtually NONE in Idaho and maybe 5% in California. Our health care facilities in CA FINALLY dropped their mask requirement, but most staff are still wearing them.
During the pandemic, life in North Idaho was barely changed at all while CA went absolutely bonkers with every possible precaution under the sun. The results of this big experiment? Equal outcomes for both states (infections, hospitalizations, ICUs, and death). All the extreme measures in CA had ZERO effect (except for making people absolutely neurotic).
Can you completely escape that hellhole, known as SanFranSicko?
We could, but we’ve been in our house for 40 years next month and I like our neighbors and neighborhood. I really enjoy getting back there around January for four or five months, then coming back to Idaho
My wife has so had it with CA that she refuses to go back and has made Idaho her full-time home. She loves the winter and skiing. She grew up in the Bay Area so I think winter is still a bit of a novelty to her. She’s been through three winters here and so far loves it. I spent my first 21 years in snowy wintry territory and that’s a big reason I landed in CA after college.
But the nuttiness is growing every day with the push for reparations, charging for utilities based on your income, “free” health care for all illegal invaders, loss of our R1 residential zoning, etc and the time may soon be approaching where even I say “enough is enough.”
This past winter was weird, too. The Bay area was only 5 to 10 degrees warmer than Idaho, but the eleven “atmospheric rivers” kept blasting the area with cold rain and fierce winds. I went through five of the eleven and they were brutal. So there really wan’t much weather difference between ID and CA this past winter.
Sell....while you still can!!
Just kidding.
That’s great that you can hang in there, and, tough out all of the insane regs happening.
Do you at least get a grandfathered/capped for age tax rate, on your home?
Take care.
I still occasionally wear a face mask when I think it is appropriate.
If I am repeatedly coughing or sneezing in public I put one on to reassure the other people I am near.
Or if I need to ride on public transit I may wear one briefly to protect myself from other people. Masks don’t stop infection from coughs or sneezes but they do lower the dose of an infection, which is also important.
My experience is that people who insult others with words like “idiot” should usually be looking in a mirror.
You don’t tug on superman’s cape
You don’t spit into the wind
You don’t pull the mask off that old lone ranger
And you don’t mess around with Jim
Thanks. One of the very few things CA has done right was the Proposition 13 initiative led by Jarvis and Gann in 1978. It sets your property tax at 1% of sale price and your property taxes cannot go up more than 2% per year. So your property taxes are very predictable. In Idaho, we have the standard “assessed value” of your home (driven by nearby home sales) and the assessment rate, both of which can change year-to-year.
The only downside to Prop 13 is people don’t move. The longer you stay in your house in an up real estate market, the more attractive you low property tax bill becomes. Of course, newcomers HATE it because they are paying exorbitant property taxes while yours stays low. So the secret is to stay in your home a long time which not everybody can do.
I have a neighbor who randomly wears one. He used to wear one all the time but now whenever... That makes no sense at all. I guess it is a pacifier for him.
And the ones thatvI see wearing them are wearing those cheap blue ones that won’t stop any disease.
