At least 20 people were injured, one fatally, when gunfire erupted early Sunday at a Juneteenth celebration in suburban Chicago, authorities said.
The shooting unfolded about 12:30 a.m. in the parking lot of a strip mall in Willowbrook, about 23 miles west of Chicago, according to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office.
The gunfire erupted during a large gathering to commemorate Juneteenth, Battalion Chief Joe Ostrander with the Tri-State Fire Protection District told ABC Chicago station WLS-TV.
Victims were taken to multiple area hospital with gunshot wounds, according to the sheriff's office. One person was pronounced dead and at least two were in critical condition, Deputy Chief Eric Swanson of the DuPage County Sheriff's Office said at a news conference.
No arrests have been announced.
A motive for the shooting is under investigation.

As “no suspects” which is the quiet way of saying “they got away with it and are laughing as they watch this news on TV right now.”
The news said another story of gun violence.
The unspoken question is what group is responsible and what can be done to solve that.

With a steel helmet, visor, kevlar vest, arm protection, sap gloves, thigh armor module and a bullet resistant ballistic shield to carry, you should feel free to enjoy the day.
I for one encourage this behavior for minority yutes,is there anything we normal people can do to help them expand and pick up the pace in killing each other?
Chicago needs to pass some common-sense gun control laws.

Gotta take all those guns from the burbs and rural areas to prevent these mass shootings.
Two ways. I don’t support the second.
1) Stand up between two groups on the street. Yell “Hey, they just dissed you back here. Here’s what they said....” Then duck.
2) Planned Parenthood believed thinning the black population was necessary (eugenics style) to improve the power of the white race in succeeding in dominance, so she wanted abortion centers built within brief walking or bus distance of black neighborhoods.
Five times more black women get an abortion each year. Possibly 19 million fewer black people are alive due to the abortions since Sanger’s day.

A modest suggestion: in order to prevent killings, let’s ban fake Federal and State holidays that are nothing more than empty virtue signaling. There seems to be a strong correlation between shootings and mayhem over long holiday weekends.
Let’s have fewer holidays and save lives.
....I believe I just heard on Fox News or whatever it is that the police have a suspecct in custody...no other details released I beleve..wonder what kind of “-ish” the suspect is....? Swedish; Irish; Finnish; Norwegian-ish; Icelanderish...?? jus’ askin’ .....
I’m still trying to figure out how these are Juneteenth-related events when Juneteenth is observed on the 19th. These are really about Father’s Day, if we think about it.
