The GOP leadership has been conning and deceiving its base voters for 2 generations and everyone normal (not an idiot or a grifter in on the take) can see it. President Trump has all of the right enemies and DeSantis has all of the wrong friends.

The perfect example is Georgia, a state the Republicans dominate except for the US Senate, Trump thru his comments and actions managed to alienate enough Republicans to allow 3 straight Senate elections to be won by Democrats
DeSantis has all the wrong friends, but Trump’s friends are Laura Loomer, Ronna McDaniel, Bill Barr, Christopher Wray, Anthony Fauci, etc., all people he nominated or supported.
