When I started working at the gas station in 1975, Regular was 49.9 cents a gallon.

It was 25 cents per gallon in 1974. There was a “gas shortage”; however, they discovered large deposits of the more expensive stuff.

I got my first truck and was having a ball driving too fast, tuning and making it faster at least in acceleration. Point and valve float was always a problem and difficult to solve. All was well until gasoline went up to $0.279 a gallon! It put a dent in my fun.

I did the same thing. Worked at an Exxon station.

Regular was 47.9 a gallon.
