To: plain talk

Sword, armour, arrowheads, and the dead’s remains. Reminds me of the song ‘Conquistador’, which was popular the summer after I graduated from high school (in 72).

The first few times I heard that song, I thought the singer was saying ‘Christopher’. Some other words were hard to understand. But I was listening to the fender-mounted AM radio on the John Deere 4020. And my car radio speaker was marginal as well, but I heard the dj announce the title, and then the song made more sense.

Yeah artists sometimes mess up the lyrics while singing. Usually they redo them. The middle chorus of “Tell her No” by the Zombies is an example where the producer said leave the mistake as is and make them wonder what is actually being said.
