The good news is that I've got a set of dress blues to wear if I got called. (Yeah, they still fit....sorta)
The bad news....well, I certainly wouldn't fit into that Washington crowd.
Only highly-polished black footwear I own is my pointy-toed Sunday-go-to-meeting boots. (Tourists refer to 'em as "Cowboy" boots...) Just haven't own/worn much of anything else since about 1975.

I read that as “I’ve got a set of blue dresses to wear” and I thought.. “wow, I thought he was man” lol.
I re-read your post and see now that it was dress blues. My dad is a Marine. He’s almost 94. He’s really thin, I think his dress blues would swim on him. And he’s doing well, but he is up there in age, and I almost hate to ask if he wants to be buried in them or a suit. He’s kinda cranky lol.
He just missed Korea by a year or two.
