I don’t think they should’ve eliminated the draft...It served a very useful purpose in the building of the integrity and patriotism of our country...As you said, turned boys into men...
I joined the Navy in 1967 right after high school...
Yep...that’s how it was.
One of my sons joined the Marines because of elder mentors when he asked them if they had any regrets what would thy change....those who did not serve in the military all said not serving was their greatest regret.
