I have decided to just avoid the Ukraine-Russia threads. This post below is not directed at you or any other specific person, I am just observing a dynamic on FR.
If one does not buy into Ukrainian propaganda and blindly support sending Ukraine tens of billions of dollars of taxpayer monies we don’t have, you are are called a “Putinista”.
If one does think we should be supporting Ukraine and sending them unlimited aid from money we don’t have and arms we take from our own military stores, you have to be a Homo-Zelensky-Nazi-Loving Propaganda Monkey.
I am just sick of all of it.
My feelings on Putin is that he is a KGB thug. You can throw a coat of paint on him, but he is still the kind of person who would use the toe of his pointed shoe to crush the unprotected testicle of someone undergoing interrogation against the concrete floor of the Lubyanka prison cellar.
Leopards like him don’t change their spots. I agree with you he isn’t a Communist, but he has all the bad traits of them without any of the “charming” ones. He is just a beady-eyed thug who recognizes weakness and will use violence to subordinate them, and the world has been full of them since Cain murdered Abel.
My view of the likes of Zelensky is not significantly better. I see him as a butt-buddy of Justin Trudeau and Soros one-world government types. They don’t share our values, and if they weren’t sucking off our national teat with frequent threats to drag the entire world into an apocalyptic war (so he and the rest of his oligarchy can grift more money and kick some of it back to our politicians) unless we pony up.
I am sick of all of it.
My feeling is Russia should NOT be in Ukraine, but if he is, and the Europeans see that as a threat, they damn well should be sending THEIR weapons, military, and taxpayer money from their own national funds to fight the threat in Ukraine, not us.
And by the way-anyone POSITIVELY supporting Russia in this needs their ass kicked. I don’t have any room for it. I just don’t think NOT supporting Ukraine IS supporting Russia, because it isn’t.
