I think the conspiracy theories about things that to exist, also presented without evidence are worse than the intelligence folks - those that know - keeping what they know about “UFOs” out of the public, for now.
There is only one way they will have to “come clean”. And that will be when a big UFO incident is so massively public, in multiple countries at near the same time.

In fact most contactees are simply talking about what they experienced—that is not a “conspiracy theory” either.
You can believe them or not as you choose.
People speaking the truth as they experience it deserve our respect imho—”conspiracy theory” is a cheap and undeserved shot by those who have not had the experience.
Just an “Independence Day” style visit to the White House is what I’d like to see. That would prove they are friendly and thoughtful.
