Sounds like a giant monopoly.
I saw this coming. LIV is running out of money and the other tours are upping guaranteed events.
I don’t like it b/c it will forever doom some tournaments to secondary status (like the Honda Classic - soon to have a new sponsor), and also limit the opportunities for borderline tour players.
I guess Brooks Koepka is this generation’s Joe Namath? His win at the PGA Championship was probably the tipping point.
Is this the end of the controversy then?
We hate Saudi’s... But we love their money?
The PGA is making a terrible move... 54 hole tournaments? Everybody gets to wear shorts? Everybody makes money, no cuts?
They are ruining golf and taking blood money to do it with... Sad, but true. Now all the a-holes that they thought they got rid of, are now back to say ‘told you so’.

Wonder how that pay structure is gonna work?
It’s in the hole!
Blood money.
Several top golphers made out like bandits. Phil Mickleson received a $200 million signing bonus to join LIV and Brooks Koepka $100 million. Presumably they won’t have to pay that back…insane money. LIV was hemorrhaging in ratings and interest, so they needed this more than the PGA.
Oh that’s nice.
Always good to do business with the sharia-compliant government of a country where Christianity and all signs and practice of it is forbidden, the involved fund - PIF 20230 - is named 2030 after the globalists ideal to destroy civilization, gays are put to death or lashed 500 times, and women require male guardianship and are treated as children or slaves.
Didn’t Mickleson once say he was a Christian? Will thanks to Jesus be tolerated?
Will women be allowed to attend these tournaments? Will they be required to wear body bags or just stand behind some barrier?
Just figured it out... With this merger nobody looks at the Saudi’s books... Nobody looks at the PGA’s books... So they get to keep their dirty secret cash funds, as dirty secrets.
IMHO, PGA caved. I’m assuming ratings down, unless it was a major tournament most of the time no one knew who was playing save for the few big names who didnt go to LIV. The PGA had it good, some of the players griped about certain things and they didnt listen. Along comes LIV and lo and behold the PGA starts giving out more money etc. They had it coming.
As for Saudi blood money, the US government is into some shady stuff as well. We’re just a lot more quiet and subtle about it than the Saudis
First things first... Jay Monahan is persona non grata...
He needs to be removed as the commissioner. PGA tour players will not accept him as the head of golf after being lied to and misled by a commissioner who can be bought and sold after a couple of rounds of golf in London.
I guess the merger will bring the top talent back and push this season's winners back to also-rans?

Quite a deal. McIlroy lost. He’ll be back in the 10th-20th range again.
