I know nuttin but I did read on FR a long time ago that some fibbers or whatnot were in the student crowd, and one of them fired a shot or two more or less in the direction of the NG and that sparked what happened.

Appreciate the confirmation. Although I was about 10 years old when it happened, I remember Kent State.
