I understand what augmented reality is. I’ve seen the videos of the technology in Japan, where they have a cat that seemingly reaches out in the street.
I’m just telling you that the whale video in particular was done through movie magic. The kids didn’t see anything that day. They were probably told to express surprise on a signal and then the studio spliced two different videos together to give the illusion the kids saw the whale and its splashdown. It was well done.
When I first saw the video as well, I thought it was real. It was only after I did my research did I find that it was all movie magic.
