The reason that GOP hopefuls can’t gain any traction against President Trump in the polls is quite simple: they’re fighting against a symbol.
Against a symbol, all arguments and policy debates are useless.

That’s an interesting thought. And it’s the left that made him that symbol, by constantly vilifying and persecuting him. He is now a martyr that we will stand behind no matter what.
(Is martyr the right word?)
