To: Irish Eyes

Did you used to have race horses? My uncle did most of his life. Per his request, his ashes were scattered at the finish line at Golden Gate Fields.
I rode from a young age, then I got into breaking and taming, and training. I don’t know what plans some of the clients had, race horses maybe, but working and pleasure horses. My body is too messed up to ride anymore, but still love horses. I always hoped one of my grands would be a horseperson so I could give them my spurs, but not so far. I told my daughter just bury me with my spurs if no one wants them. Lol.

Sounds like a plan…..LOL

We owned and raced horses during the 60s thru the 80’s. Raced mainly in CA. Once we moved to AZ we pretty much gave up the owner side of it. The purses at Turf Paradise and Prescott Downs would hardly pay the training and vet bills.

Father in Law once raced a horse in the Kentucky Derby it was fun, but the horse did not do well.

I never did ride not even the tame saddle horses. Sounds like you were quite the rider.
