In 1958 I had a man who was our sixth grade teacher. He was a former marine, WWII as a kid and Korea as well. Got out and after college became a school teacher. Great conduct and morals. Made sure the boys were aware that they were expected to become young gentlemen. Taught judo as a fill-in in gym class and for an after school activity once a week. Was a great asset to the district. He and his wife had two kids as I recall.

I had 5. They taught algebra, history, English literature, and chemistry. Most were former military. Some of the best teachers I had.
