What the heck is “queer” anyway?
Doesn’t it just mean you’re abnormal sexually, which implies it is a GENERAL term and should be used instead of all this gobbledygook alphabet?
BTW, another example of the hi-jacking of the language. “Queer” means weird, and that was all it meant until homos overtook it and embraced a pejorative to be their own.
Sorry, just random thoughts on queer, and off my soapbox.
LGBTQIAP+… I is intersex, A is asexuals, P is pansexual which is an expansion of bisexual for those who reject binary sexes, the + is for HIV. Do you have to be Queer to be Pansexual? Is Queen the same as gender fluid? Can a Transgender be Pansexual? TIQ+ have nothing to do with sexual (or affectional) attraction characteristics so why are they lumped in with LGB? There used to be another T in there for “two spirited” which I think is some kind of native gender fluid thing.
These labels divide, conquer and undermine individual identity. There’s way too many letters now.
We are allowing our language to get hijacked.
I prefer the term homosexual to describe these people.
