Find a copy of Larry Ford’s rendition of the Star Spangled Banner and you will be blown away. He sings it like it is suppose to be sung and it is glorious!

Yes, a great rendition, but I also seem to recall she was criticized by some at the time for wearing a track suit and making the SSB into a “pop song”.

As you said, to each their own.

I also liked this version of the SSB by Lady Ga Ga.

Sandy Patty used to do a pretty fair rendition too. But Whitney was hard to top.
