I guess it wasn’t as bad as it could have been, so there’s that.

I think I’m less bothered by her interpretation as I am by the trend that everything must be “reinterpreted” for “modern audiences”. We no longer seem to have room for tradition and I suspect it’s intentional in order to sever us from our collective past so it can be recast as necessary. Those who control the past...

I’m sure thinking that makes me racist or sexist, or at least curmudgeonly. But I’m past the point where I care.

Sure, every rendition of the SSB should sound exactly like one this because everyone living today can completely identify with the original 1814 rendition as originally written and sung.
