Agreed. Supposedly there is something on the interwebs that may confirm this. Something along the lines of an acquaintance of his encouraging Mulvaney to do this or Mulvaney admitting it. Not sure which, but I've heard the rumors. But I'm not putting his name in my searches.
The persona he crafted was just too way over the top, too scripted to be anything but a construct.
