I purchased a solar powered ice cube maker that makes cubes in about 10 minutes. For when the power goes out and you need to keep food in the fridge.

We bought a small generator to keep the fridge going. I have added to my ammo inventory, now up to 1000+ rounds, we have enough bottled water to float a battleship (6-5 gallon jugs and 10 cases of bottled water), two of those 30 day rations, and 100+ bottles of wine, for drinking and bartering as need be.

Texas winemakers produce some really great wine, at a reasonable price. I admit to going more upscale, as in buying $25-$30 bottles, lol. But when I want a decent Riesling, I go to the liquor store and buy a bottle of Piesporter Spatlese, which runs between 9-12 bucks a bottle.

For cooking when power's out, I'll hook up my Traeger to the generator, too.
