I think I know what went wrong, since I also use Startpage. When you look for an image to link to, you should never choose the “View Image Anonymously” option. That one gives you a startpage.com URL that is very temporary, and I only use it to download an image. Instead, go to the actual link where the image is, find it, and open the image in a new tab and copy that URL (some sites won’t let you link, but that should be immediately apparent when you preview in the FR post).
