Could be wrong but think she has already defected to Russia?
Not defecting really . . . more like taking refuge there. At least, that's what I've seen in various articles.

Tara was already in Russia during that interview I mentioned. She said she would like to live in Russia and felt more secure there. She said of the spy, “I call Maria (spy) my friend”, as she has been a help to Tara.
I took that as pertaining to the Russia visit. I think she actually said that she wanted Russian citizenship out loud.
The White House comm director Admiral John Kirby was peppered, yesterday, with a few questions about Tara. One reporter wanted drama, asking if Kirby thought Tara could be an “agent”.
Kirby said flatly,, “There is no evidence of that.”
Reporter man framed his question around Maria and Tara, and of her feeling of security in Russia. He was angling for the press to paint Tara with suspicion, in a bad light, if they cover her at all, nothing was related to Biden’s role in her paranoia, real or imagined.
This Maria spy-thing happened under Obama. Tara was at the time associated with the office of the VP, or inside the White House.
Tara may know where a body or two is buried. Otherwise, I’m not sure why she is feeling this level of insecurity. Or maybe she really is a political defector.
