“I went to Jamaica twice when I was younger. There was a mix of people living on the island. Most of them were struggling to make a living usually off of tourism. I never met a hostile Jamaican in my time there. I was a little hesitant to get off the bus on my first visit when we stopped at a jerk chicken stand in the country and there were black men with machetes. That wasn’t a normal thing where I came from. It took me a few days to get use to that and driving on the wrong side of the road.”

Been twice myself. Both times a few days after I left I came down with a really bad chest cold. Never did get used to the driving on the wrong side of the road. Lots of poor people. Don’t hate the place but is my least favorite Caribbean island, followed by US Virgin Islands and then Puerto Rico. Love Aruba and Curacao.

Aruba is the only place in the Caribbean I’m willing to go to.

I didn't like Montego Bay at all. We stayed at Hedonism II in Negril. It was beautiful out there. It was almost a 3 hour bus ride from Montego Bay. I was 18 years old and I went with 8 friends. We rented enduro motorcycles to ride out to the country. I remember the farmers were bitching about Reagan sending in the helicopters to burn their pot plants. The people were nice but they would aggravate you sometimes by begging for money. The resort had a big fence to keep people out but outside the gate you were on your own.
