Widely covered in Maryland area media. A lot of FReepers monitor the DM for these kind of stories, rather than trusting their local US MSM outlets.
Seems to me it won’t be all that difficult to ID these people, since the kids are known to each other. I would expect arrests within 72 hours at the most.
