“A few years back, HGTV bought the North Hollywood property for $3.5 million and renovated it on the show “A Very Brady Renovation.”

My wife and I watched that because we’re from that generation. They had to radically restructure it because the show was filmed on sets and not at the actual house and they didn’t matchup......depiction. IIRC even with all that they still didn’t get it exactly like the show depicted.

But yeah, 5.5 mill.......in just about any other state it’d probably go for less than a mill but real estate in California is literally stupid expensive.

A friend of mine bought a 2 bedroom condo 2 blocks off the beach in LA 20 years ago for $350k. The city for property taxes values it at $1.85 mil. No yard, a tiny garage, 2BR 1 bath. It’s nothing special. Were he to sell it, no doubt it’d go for far more.

It was a cool house, but the father’s house in the original Parent Trap movie was even better.

$4 In my home state that would be a $300,000 home and would have a basement and a big yard with a creek. pond, lake nearby. Just move away from the cities for lower prices.
Where that home is the weather is hot hot hot in the summer.
