Bach or Beethoven, played on the piano. Oh. Maybe you didn’t mean that type of percussion solo?

Oh boy, you don't want to open that can o' worms. Because what will be considered great? Horowitz playing Scarlatti with precision? Yuga Want playing a monster Liszt kuncklebreaker? Gieseking playing a delicate Debussy number?

Artistry? Phrasing? Or just NPS (notes per second)? Does a flubbed note rule one out of the running (Cortot, Rubenstein)?

I need to just stop.

It’s how I feel about musical theater songs. If only a performer or two on the planet can perform it decently, it’s close to useless.

Any competent player with sensitivity and a strong piece from either oeuvre can make magic with what I suggest.
