Two more climbers have died on Everest, expedition organisers said on Thursday (May 18), bringing the number of deaths on the world's highest peak this spring climbing season to seven.
The latest fatalities were a 58-year-old Indian woman who said before her expedition that she had a pacemaker, and a Nepali member of a team clearing trash from the mountain.
Suzanne Leopoldina Jesus died at a hospital in the Nepal town of Lukla after the Indian mountaineer was airlifted from base camp due to illness.

I’ve seen reports that some of the people who have died trying to summit Everest are still up there frozen solid, same goes for all the trash that is up there.
I understand why people want to scale Everest, but a good number of people die in the process.

I hate setting out to prove I can do something just for the sake of doing it, and then Death shows up and says “Fail”.

“a 58-year-old Indian woman who said before her expedition that she had a pacemaker”
In all seriousness, shouldn’t she have consulted her cardiologist before attempting something so physically challenging?
Very sad

Wonder if they ever made it to Ricky Pule's?
"Ricky and Maurice offer a variety of styles for the well-groomed climber. Why should Tensing and Sir Edmond Hillary be number one on top, when you're number one on top?"

I hate setting out to prove I can do something just for the sake of doing it, and then Death shows up and says “Fail”. I tied to do stand up comedy once. Never before had anybody died so dyinginly a deadly death of deathstruction as that night of infamy.

Absolutely. Any trip to the summit involves walking past places where corpses are visible. A grim reminder of the dangers.

If you have enough money, you can find a guide to pull you up Everest and down it regardless of your climbing ability (if any at all).
Everest has become a joke for the narcissistic rich.

The legend lives on,
From the Tibetans on down
Of the mountain they call Chomolungma
The mountain, it's said,
Never gives up its dead
When the skies of November get gloomy.

People who die climbing Mt. Everest get a Darwin Award along with a post humus stupidity badge. But the Nepali guy. He was trying to make a living.

How much of a big deal is it when a 58-year-old woman with a pacemaker can do it?
Still sad for her family though.
To: DannyTN
" . . . . the first Asian woman on a pacemaker to scale Mount Everest.”Well, she did make history by being the first to attempt it.
