Wednesday I sell my parents (RiP) Maryland rental property off to the tenant since 1994. An elderly Black woman and her children. I froze her rent 4 years ago when I inherited it. I get the $, she and her family get the house. I won’t have to pay federal capital gains taxes on it. I paid it forward. I’m glad I get the proceeds, especially now that I’m unemployed, and I’m glad I don’t have to deal with the property taxes anymore. MD is expensive. Venting. Simple.
