Pharmakeia - translated as "sorcery" or "witchcraft" in English Bibles. Most commentators acknowledge those practices to include "drugs", but are careful to differentiate between "bad" drugs and "good" drugs... Just how many of the former sort have been propagandized and presented to the public as the latter, though? Not hard to think of examples.
