Ya know, I just managed to verbalize what bugs me MOST about this Miller Lite commercial.
The Miller Lite ad specialist is a blond-haired, blue-eyed woman who yes, does care a LOT about how she looks and yes, would make the perfect model for a passive-aggressive Connecticut step-mom. But she’s not allowed to be put off by bikini-filled commercials. Nope. White people can’t have any opinions. Instead, we get a frumpy Frida Kahlo wanna-be. Because we shouldn’t care about looks?
No, because this isn’t really about objecting to the objectification of women. Miller still wants to sell beer to horny wankers. This is about joining the Marxist revolution against the privilege of socially desirable white women! Li’l Connecticut blonde, blue-eyed housewife can’t lead that Revolution! We need an ambiguously Islamic/Latino/mixed race revolutionary! “Come on, sisters, don’t you hate those blonde beer sluts!!!”
