Speaking of vermin, the Lawn Guys are here, so I had to move Charlie’s door mat inside. They don’t have a set day. Just when it’s not raining.
It was supposed to be sunny today, but it’s overcast and the barometer is dropping. Maybe that’s why they came — they know something the weather guessers don’t. :o|
I’ve turned the packet in, so for whatever its worth, I’m done until I move out.
I’m sure it’s a relief to be done!
It is! It used to be, they only wanted three months worth of documentation, but now they want six. They don’t care how much a person has to pay to get those copies, and they don’t care about the stresses involved. They just want to make sure that people don’t de-fraud the thieving government.
They go after poor people in case they’re hiding $500 in a bank account somewhere, probably Christmas/birthday money for family members, when the drug dealers and gun runners and tax-evasion artists are hiding more than all the low income people in a city this size could hide in a life time.
But don’t get me started. I’m not a bit happy about the requirements.
After a nice, few warm days in a row, the ol’ Bay Area Air Conditioning kicked on and it’s been windy and borderline cold. Definitely not keeping the house opened up like I had been. Temps are OK in the mid-day but by early evening as the Sun gets low, you don’t wanna be out in the wind in shirtsleeves; it’ll chill ya in short order.
Knew 3 letters (and places they DIDN’T go) after 2 guesses, but had too many remaining letters to draw a bead. So I spent a 3rd guess I knew was wrong to eliminate several more letters, and got a 4th letter out of it. Heading into guess #4 I had 4 letters, only one being a vowel, and zero correct locations; it really was just a flash of insight sort of moment.

Weather has been beautiful here too... Unusual for this time of year. Had a running joke going for a few decades that it always rains on my Birthday. Should be sunny an 83 on Saturday.
I am remarkably comfortable with this prognostication. I plan on going for a nice long bike ride and grill some ribeye for dinner.
OOOHHHyah...ribeye! And a bike ride. Perfect!
Re: your tagline.
I remember someone saying, “An open mind is like an open window. You need a good screen or you’re going to let in a lot of flies.”
Yep, there is that about those onshore breezes in the evenings. I think about San Diego when you talk about the weather there. There was still enough of the surrounding area to be open with small farms.
The last time I was there was after the Rodney King riots. I didn’t even recognize the place.
We’ll see. I plan on trying to find some place to hang my hammock somewhere around Lake Mille Lacs up here. It’s a fairly large lake and should be about a 3 hour ride total just to get up there and drive around it. Add in another hour or so to eat a lunch and maybe listen to an audio book for a bit... Should make for a remarkably relaxing day.
Sounds like the perfect birthday for you! ;o] Good luck!
I took your challenge and did better today than the last time...
Lucky second row guess helped out a lot...
I guessed this 5-letter word in 3/6 tries.

Best wishes, and watch for bears. My boy Frank, son #6, will be 14 on Saturday, talk about how time flies. We’re going shopping for his Confirmation outfit along with his sponsor, Samantha the Mayan princess, and her mom. We tried to figure out a suit size from his measurements, but it was hopeless, so it’s “Go the mall and try on.”
He’ll look like a gangster if they find the black suit and red shirt - a slightly dim, Irish yokel gangster who can’t figure out how he got into this mob, anyway, but it probably had something to do with an exotic pretty girl - but he’ll be happy. He’s had a crush on Samantha for years, and she kindly doesn’t treat him *exactly* like her little brother, who is Kathleen’s age.
A mid-80’s Sunday in the Midwest in late May sounds just about perfect. That was how the weather was when I went to Chicago in ‘17; like the Chamber Of Commerce had it was done up special.
It’s true; San Diego has the same sort of pattern, but warmer.
I haven’t been down there since the mid-1990’s, though. Closest I’ve come is La Jolla on a trip to Legoland in — I think — 2006...
Ptrtty floof!!
Good morning. Did you have a good night?
Not much is on for today, except for the letter to Charlie. And I forgot to mention I got two more cards from you earlier in the week, so I may try to write something, since I’ll be here, anyway.
I’m hoping the water will be hot enough for a nice shower in a bit.
Happy Friday, Wordle Players!
On this Memorial Day weekend, please don’t forget it’s not just about barbecues.

Good morning. Happy Friday!
I finally figured out it was Friday. I woke up thinking it was Saturday. What a let down.
Young ArGee is winging her way to her first layover on her way to a vacation in Israel. Here’s hoping she really enjoys her trip, even if it does start with sitting in an airport for several hours waiting for her international flight.
Well, I guess I have to owrk one more day this week. And it starts off with an average Wordle.
