The A/C guy came and went but the heat just kept inching up. So when it got up to 80° I shut the thing off as a bad job and sent a text to the manager. Who, being from Puerto Rico, is celebrating America’s Independence, today.
Carol called again. She talked longer this time and seemed in a much better mood.
I put my notice in when I paid the rent, so I have no clue when this thing will get fixed. Hopefully, she’ll be on top of it because she has to. Else I might find an Elder Abuse hotline and stir things up a little.
Another thing to delay the packing. No one can do it in this heat.
I think calling the Elder Abuse hotline would be a good choice.
The manager will be here tomorrow to collect the rent, so she may or may not come and see for herself whether I have a cool apartment or not. I’ll be watching for her!
She really doesn’t want to mess with this old lady. Especially since I put everything in writing. :o])
You are legally entitled to “quiet enjoyment” of your residence, and that means working a/c in the summer.
Kathleen phoned from camp with a whininess over getting sunburned on her thighs doing Swimming Merit Badge. She got a pep talk from me, her dad, Sally, and Dallas, and a promise of cake when she gets home. It is hot in central South Carolina in July, no question.
I think things will pick up later in the week when she’s working on Arts and Crafts Merit Badges.
I know just enough real estate law to be dangerous, so I’ve got the “quiet enjoyment” at the top of the list in a petition to get what I want. ;o]
Poor Kathleen! Perhaps she’s learned a lesson about redheads and sunshine.
But yeah, I think you’re right about Arts and Crafts Merit Badges. She might just fly right through!

Good morning. I hope you had an excellent Independence Day. Was Bill able to make it down for a visit? How is Elen, USMC, doing?
I’ll be heading for the shower in a few minutes. I will then contact the manager and then get on with my day. Three things have to be done, but they shouldn’t take more than an hour for all of them.
I hope the water is hot so I can relax the muscles in my back.

Bill will be visiting next month. Elen is expected mid-July, unless something changes.
And everything was fine here. Jake was unhappy about the explosions, but he’s over it and sleeping again.
