Put race aside for a second. If you believe strongly about private property, you avoid trespassing on private property. For instance, I do not turn around or drive onto anyone's driveway unless I was invited. I do not enter country clubs unless I am invited. I'm sure I could come up with more examples if given time, but my rule is to respect private property, trespassing signs or not.
One other thing; put the damn cellphone away when you are driving. Don't pull it out until you get to your destination, and even then you may not want to use it if it diverts your attention from the people you are interacting.
