Same here, except I didn’t catch Covid. My general MD from over 20 yrs. ago indicated eating red onions twice weekly would prevent me from getting sick. However, he caveated it by adding I needed to taste a little burn from the onion. When I asked him why red onions, vs. white/yellow, he only responded by wishing he could’ve done the research and discern the chemical differences, but it’s worked for his patient’s, to include me.
Try it in a salad, or in a pulled pork sandwich, topped with coleslaw, or add a generous amount of diced onions to mac n cheese AFTER it’s finished cooking. I also like a fried bologna sandwich from time-to-time, but I’m trying to limit my sodium intake.
I also try to get 100% of the daily suggested Vit C RDA, since I’m in a high-risk category. I’m glad you made it through Covid, and hope there’s no long-term effects. Stay safe, fellow Freeper.
I have been suffering from Long Covid since last summer. In November it got worse, and I wasn’t able to work a full eight hour day again. My retirement on April 21st was due in part to Long Covid, but also cuz it was time. I am doing better but I’m still trying to get my life back free from all the sleep meds that I was taking. Thanks for your kind words.
