The funny part about Ukraine's expected offensive is this. Everyone talking down Ukraine and talking up Russia, are ignoring who should be central to the discussion: The Ukrainian and Russian governments, and those who have a their finger on the pulse of what's happening, like Igor Girkin.

Ukraine and Russia are not talking about it. Ukraine has spent months training fresh units on new equipment far behind the lines. Russia is moving forces around and citizens out of the way. Prigozhin had to threaten to withdraw to get the support he needs. Girkin is openly pessimistic over what is coming.

In the real world, away from blogs and forums, there is a significant difference between what those who speak with authority and knowledge they do not have, compared to the actions those in charge are making and what those in the know are saying.
