Most generally favor getting people the Mental Health care they need, if for no other reason than to keep them off the streets causing harm to themselves an others.

Medical care and rehabilitation are expensive and you and I rather than the afflicted ones pay for it.

Except it doesn't stop there, does it? If it did, we wouldn't care. But it doesn't.
