Well, search engines haven't scrubbed that history yet.
Short version-a contingent of Russians secured Pristina airfield. Clark ordered the British to block the runways. Jackson refused, and would have resigned. The airport was isolated, and neighboring countries refused Russia permission to cross their airspace.

Clark was removed from his post.

Tench_Coxe is right. Except for the common sense of British General Jackson, Wesley Clark could have blundered us into war with Russia. From the article below:

Clark ordered [British Captain] Blunt to “overpower” and “destroy” the Russians, but Blunt refused to obey the order and questioned what Clark meant. Jackson refused to enforce Clark’s orders, reportedly telling him “I’m not going to start the Third World War for you.”

The scary thing is that the folks now in charge are just as stupid and arrogant as Clark was. And so much for NATO being a purely defensive organization.
