Not sure I’ll be too interested in Charles and his Queen Consort (if I were a subject, she would always remain the Consort and nothing else.)
I watched the marriage of him and Princess Diana and watched her sad funeral. I’m a Royal watcher, but not a fan of the current king.
Waiting for him to pass the crown to William.
It has the same impact on me as any other tourist attraction, but it is a cut above simulated events for kids at, say, Disneyworld.
Late in 1999 someone from National Lampoon joked that the UK was going to be acquired by Disney and the whole place converted to the United Magic Kingdom. The accompanying graphic showed the Queen and one of her guards with his head replaced by Mickey. :^)
