I am wondering if different parts of the country have more fleas...

I think so. San Diego was terrible, though when our eucalyptus trees were healthy, we never had fleas. When they got this tiny parasite from Australia and were basically decimated, we started getting fleas on the pets.

I groomed several dogs that were covered in fleas... it was awful, because the people had used some cheap flea stuff that didn’t work. The water would be red with blood from these fleas. I would try to be kind and give them the lecture about anemia, regular bathing and better flea meds. Usually to no avail. It was sad.

Apparently here in Colorado they say no fleas, so I only use Revolution once or twice in the spring. My cats are indoor divas, so no hunting lol.

My dogs have never had fleas. You know why? Because I never ever put soap on their skin.
