when I was 14, my parents bought a 40-acre section of land that included the old house, barns and milking parlor for a dairy operation. One of the dairy hands was walking us through the milking parlor to show us the operation... it had about 10 stalls where the cows would come in and get hooked up to the automated milkers and have some dinner. They would operate levers to dispense the feed, which dropped down a chute into a little bowl for each cow. The guy pointed to a door in the ceiling with a small ladder attached to the wall. "Up there is where we store the feed, and it attracts rats. Be careful when you push up on that door. I once had two black snakes fall on my head."
Dad: "Yeah, I won't be going up there. In fact, I'll probably bolt and chain that shut."

When you live in the country you have to choose between rats or snakes. I’d rather have the snakes. I’ve seen barn rats that the cats were afraid of. Snakes don’t spread the diseases that rats do.

Pitchforks work great, the ones with the sharp tines. Use with the tines pointing downward, stab, repeatedly if necessary, then flip the fork and scoop up and pitch the carcass.

I am interested in a fully mechanical car/truck. Any suggestions? Easy to get parts is important.
Can get any part for my 1978 F100...down to the washer or bolt level...lot of parts still made in USA,
I just installed power brakes....next up power steering.
Already replaced gauges and installed a 4 speed manual gear box with a Hurst shifter (4th is overdrive)
