I was, in essence, poking fun at myself, putting myself in to the role of some country bumpkin who wouldn't know the difference between "trans" and "gay." (In a sane world, average people wouldn't know the difference - or care. And I don't actually think that it's "ray-cist" for a White person to casually mention that he can't tell one Asian from another - or vice-versa. People are overly sensitive!)
It's called "self-irony," and the image I posted from "Blues Brother" should have made it clear that I was going for a joke.
Sometimes I forego the "/sarcasm" tag b/c I think that it's just too obvious.
For some people, apparently not.
