But in the case at hand, there wasn't even a difference of opinion here. (Indeed, I rather suspect that we hold a similar position on this topic.)
Rather, leaning conservative was accusing me of being off-topic and "creepy."
Under some circumstances, I might respond to such "casting of asparagus" with humor -
"Hey, I resemble that remark!"Regards,
