I have been an NYPD cop for almost 20 years. I’m still active. I’ve ridden the NYC subway thousands upon thousands of times. I currently live in VA as part of a task force.
So unlike ordinary citizens in NYC, you can A) carry and B) defend yourself with a firearm if need be.

If what you are saying is true - maybe you are part of the problem.
In any event, you should have disclosed that earlier - because you are biased. And that bias affects your judgement.
