Yes it has. I do not generally recommend vaccination for a couple reasons. 1. The disease has followed the laws of all pandemics and evolved into a highly contagious but extremely benign disease (corona virus is a common cold). As it’s evolution has tracked to rarely life threatening, I see not need to vaccinate against the disease. I do think that limited populations (significant debilitated, immunosuppressed patients, morbidly obese, and malnourished should have the choice to be vaccinated and for targeted populations, I would recommend it.

So I think the opposite fringe to our antivaxxers here are the leftists counting their sixth booster snd demanding all covid protections like masking. And distancing — which didn’t work to begin with!

But as always I never have nor will state something should be mandatory but will correct what I know to be untruths as to the actual truth of the situation.

Thank you for the question.

As an 84 year old woman in generally good health, I only went out for 2 years to shop for food and go to the bank. I used an N95 mask, tried to distance 6 feet, and sanitized hands as soon as I got home. I also researched masking and found that the virus is carried on water vapor which the mask DOES stop. Also when an unmasked person sneezes or coughs, the contaminated droplets have fallen below head level after 4 to six feet distance. So by all means use a mask if it makes sense for your situation.

In addition to my usual supplements, I added more vitamin D3, C, Zinc and, when possibly exposed, Quercetin. I took 2 J&J jabs in 2021 because my partner’s doctor son would not allow me to come for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners if I was not vaccinated. Until this past December, I had suffered NO VIRAL illness this Century. Then my 78 year old partner (recovering from cancer treatment) was begged by his doctor son to come babysit his 2 year old grandson who was home sick from playschool. Both parents working in the health field had used up all their sick leave. Late Dec. 2022, a few days after babysitting his ill grandson for 12 hours, my partner became ill with a respiratory illness similar to his grandson’s. I soon was ill too.

In Dec. 2021 I tested with excellent levels of blood Vitamin D (66 ng/mL). That year I was worried about cancer in my partner, my brother, and my son. I put on some extra weight and in Dec. 2022 tested low for blood Vitamin D. I also had a BMI of 27.5. I soon saw an article posted by ConservativeMind saying that people with a BMI above 25 risked Vitamin D deficiency as the D became trapped in fat rather than circulating in blood. I have now lost 15 pounds. and still going down. Nevertheless I was sick and slow recovery from respiratory illness morphing into persistant bronchitis. I am finally well again and regaining energy.

My partner’s son asked him to babysit his sick child several times this winter, and several times my partner got sick and passed it on to me. One time he had chills but did not check for fever. A few days later I had chills and a fever of 101.5 and a bad cough. I had already increased my Vitamin D3 consumption, then I lost my sense of smell but after 5 days of tripling my Zinc, my smell returned. I wonder if his grandson had a case of RSV which we caught? I don’t know the symptoms of RSV in the elderly. But two months of bronchitis (Feb. and March) was my result, and my partner still has occasional coughing. He has promised me no more babysitting a sick grandson and informed his son he needs some other backup babysitter.
