Democrats Furious after GOP Councilman Comes Out as ‘Woman of Color’

A Republican Councilman from Indiana, Ryan Webb, announced he will now identify as a “woman of color.”

He said: “After much consideration I have decided to come out and finally feel comfortable announcing my true authentic self. It is with great relief that I announce to everyone that I identify as a woman and not just any woman but as a woman of color as well.

“I guess this would make me gay/lesbian as well since I am attracted to women. Whew, that felt good to finally get that out there and start living life as my true self. I’m excited to bring some diversity to the county council. Until today we didn’t have any females of color or LGBTQIAPC+++ on the council. I’m glad that now we do!

“To avoid confusion, everyone can continue to address me as Ryan or as Councilman Webb. I will also retain my my preferred pronouns of He/Him, however, this will in no way diminish my true identity as a woman of color.

“I’m excited to be a vocal partner of the LGBTQIAPC+++ movement. Who knows just how far we can take things, but I’m just glad that this is now possible so ANYONE can be ANYTHING or ANYONE they want.

“It has come to my attention that I am more than likely the very first lesbian woman of color in the history of Delaware County to ever serve on the Delaware county council. I am honored to be the one to shatter that glass ceiling.”

The backlash was immediate. Webb told WISH TV8 that his family has been receiving threats since he made the Facebook post in the middle of April. He said:

“Our family has been receiving violent threats throughout the day from intolerant liberals who refuse to accept my decision to live my life however I choose. I don’t really see how an interview will improve the situation.

“It is unfortunate, but a group called Indiana Progressives has decided to organize a hate and harassment campaign against me and my family by publishing my address and encouraging people to unlawfully congregate at my home. You can read their comments on my public post.

“I have to look out for the safety of my family, including our 6 children. There are people with serious mental health issues encouraging people who are unwelcome to come to my home, so I think it’s best to politely decline your on-camera interview.

“It is unfortunate that I cannot simply be given the same space and respect to explore my identity that so many of those targeting me demand for themselves.

“I have announced my position and that has not changed. I do not need anyone to approve or validate who I am for me to live my life the way I choose. I don’t feel like an on-camera interview is necessary or warranted. I’m simply living my life without concern for what others may think about my own personal decisions.

“I have recently decided to live my life however I choose to identify which happens to be as a woman of color. My American Indian heritage is not up for debate, although many would like it to be. It’s possible I may change my mind down the road. The process of identity exploration is complex and often times at the end of our personal journey we end right back where we started.

“I hope that in the future those asking for tolerance and understanding are willing to give it in return and not just to those who they feel is worthy of it. Nobody has the authority to validate or invalidate any individual who chooses to identify a certain way.”

Finally, someone who has actually did what I have been proposing for a long time. This is the way to destroy wokeness, but it will only be successful if large numbers of people do it. The left can shriek all they want to about this, but they have no recourse because the same “principles” they have created for deciding whether someone is “gay”, “transgender”, etc. are so intentionally loosely defined that they permit anyone, as this guy has done, to just decide on a whim that they now belong to one or more of the left’s coveted victim classes.

The real reason the left pushes wokeness is to define those who agree with their politics as victims, and to define those who disagree with them as oppressors. This enables them to use wokeness as a weapon to reward their friends and punish their enemies. But that whole system breaks down once the “oppressors” exploit the twisted rules of “woke” to jump the fence and join the party on the “victim” side. Once everyone is on the same side of the fence, the woke house of cards collapses. And they can’t stop it from happening because they can’t and won’t provide precise definitions of who exactly belongs in any of these categories (which is why they can’t answer, “What is a woman?”), or what the principles are for joining. All they can do is throw out emotional “arguments” that don’t hold water.

EVERYONE who is in a position to influence their company, school, etc. should do this, and demand all deference and every benefit they provide to “actual” gays, trannies, racial minorities, etc. If they try to say that you’re just faking it to make a point or to be disruptive, simply demand that they define what makes someone a “genuine” gay, transgender, black, Hispanic, etc. They won’t go within a million miles of trying to answer that, because to do so would require them to state specific characteristics or behaviors that would inevitably exclude many of the individuals that are claiming to be gay or transgender. And as for the racial groups, they definitely won’t go near any attempt to define what makes someone black, Hispanic, etc., because that would require enforcing what they see as stereotypes. You think they flail around when asked to define what a woman is?…just imagine the gyrations they would go through if asked to define what makes someone black.

They put themselves in this position by rejecting objective reality and demanding that anyone who imagined themselves to be something they clearly are not be treated as such based upon nothing more than that person’s imaginings and emotions. For political strategic reasons, they set the bar for entry to their victim classes at ground level. Now it’s time for everyone else to walk across it and force them to deal with it.
