I get the same mileage as you do. Every 3-4 years since about 2000, there was a new and virulent flu passed around the world. Off the top of my head there was H1N1 (swine flu), H5N1 (bird flu), SARS 1, and MERS. More people died because of these flus than the usual annual flus. SARS 2 was another more-virulent-than-usual flu. Government and media hype made it sound like the worst flu ever to hit the planet. Government regulations and inappropriate medical interventions, plus lack of appropriate medical interventions, caused substantially more deaths than SARS 2 would have on its own. The biggest danger the world faced from SARS CoV-2 turned out to be from the people who claimed they were trying to help and inform us.
